Seniors continue to flourish at Tanglewood Park and we continue to be blessed with community support for this one of a kind senior center! Our most recent gift came from Bryan Betten of Betten Chevy Pontiac GMC Cadillac. This gift, combined with his 2009 donation will place the Betten Automotive Group as a Legacy Level donor on the final etched glass recognition wall which is planned for completion by our second anniversary date this October. Our Central Services suite will now be named in honor of the Betten gift.
Tanglewood Park is being recognized beyond our lakeshore service area. Last December we were invited to speak at a Grand Valley State University seminar on models of non-profit collaboration and our PowerPoint presentation was requested for posting on the GVSU website. Pam Curtis and I have recently been invited to conduct a workshop titled, ’How a Grocery Store became a Gateway to Senior Services’ at the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri in mid-July. We are proud and excited to tell our story of community collaboration… and it is all possible thanks to people like you!!

Tanglewood Park’s Medical Equipment and Supply Center now honors the memory of William G. Jackson thanks to a $50,000 donation from his wife, Kathleen Jackson. ”This was a great way to start the year and puts us a giant step toward completing the Tanglewood Park Capital Campaign as we now have less than $150,000 to go”, stated Pam Curtis, Executive Director of Senior Resources. Over 2,000 people have received medical equipment and/or supplies from Tanglewood Park’s Medical Equipment and Supply Center since October 2008. It serves as a safety net for older adults in need of wheel chairs, lift chairs, walkers, commodes, bathing benches and hospital beds. Also available for distribution are emergency cell phones for dialing 9-1-1, adult diapers, and disposable bed pads.
